Live process
The live process begins around a week before go-live and takes the dealership through final training, system shutdown, live data migration and the first days working in Navigator.
From final training to working live
Each stage has to happen in order so the cutover is controlled and the dealership can start using Navigator with confidence.
Complete final training
All dealership staff receive training on the core functions needed for their day-to-day role. Attendance is important so users are ready when the live system opens.
System shutdown and data extract
The incumbent system is shut down at the agreed point and the dealership operates largely manually until Navigator goes live. Final data must be extracted in exactly the same format used during the test migration.
Live data migration and sign-off
The final data is imported, reviewed and sent back for dealership sign-off. Accounting data must also be reconciled against reports from the previous system before the project can continue.
Go live
Once final migration has been approved, the dealership starts using Navigator at the agreed time with implementation support available during the transition.
The live process cannot continue until final data is signed off
Any difference in the live extract format or unresolved reconciliation issue can delay the cutover, so the agreed timings and data format must be followed closely.
Support continues beyond day one
If on-site implementation has been selected, a consultant will be available at the dealership during the first few days. Remote projects are supported through Teams drop-in sessions.
